Teaming up

It's been 4 days without recording. I stayed in Oviedo in a prisonlike albergue. It was a surprisingly nice town. Maybe since they don't have a beach they have to invest into other things. There was a nice park and an old town. As I was looking a way out of the city I met Zora, Hannah and Stephanie. We walked with that team for the whole day and some of the next day. Stephanie had serious leg aches and she stayed behind with Hannah, walking slower. I continued with Zora.

Now Hannah and Steph caught up with a taxi. Steph had a lot of problems with her legs and Hannah had a food poisoning, so they had fallen behind. We went for a dinner to a place where the food was not particularly good, but the beverage serving was particularly strange. The cider is poured holding the bottle as far as it goes over your head, so that it is aired. You are supposed to down the glass with one gulp, except that you should leave some in the glass and throw it on the floor.

Hospitales

We did some rather long days with Zora, even though she hasn't walked like this before, but has other sports background. Yesterday we walked through the infamous Hospitales, which is a route over a mountain with no services. It's just wild there. The horses and cows are just going about freely on the top of the mountain. It was the most challenging part of the Primitivo. There was a way around it as well, but it would have taken longer and the view would not have been so nice. We were really exhausted after that one. Today we are doing 20 km to Grandas de Salime, where we'll meet Steph and Hannah who took another cab. My feet have been good. No more blisters. The muscles feel tired, should take a rest day. It's been four or five long days after one another. Here we have a lake, or a reservoir.
